Hon. Jim Munson: Honourable senators, I have a question for the Leader of the Government in the Senate. In light of the recent comments by a Conservative MP dealing with abortion, I would like to have the government’s or the minister’s viewpoint on a woman’s right to choose.
Hon. Marjory LeBreton (Leader of the Government): Honourable senators, obviously this is an issue that evokes passionate debate on both sides of the issue. There are people in all political parties that share the views on both sides of the issue and, of course, that is their right. I happen to have a very strong view; others have another view. That is our right, but the fact of the matter is this is a debate that the government will not reopen.
